#1 Problems with FLEUR installation after OS reintstall by AdrianoDiPietro 13.08.2021 17:54

Dear Fleur community,

After several months of problem free use of Fleur_5.1 I am faced with some installation issues following an OS reinstallation procedure needed to fix some other problems. After reinstalling the OS I proceeded to reinstall all the necessary additional software for my setup:

- Blas and Lapack libraries
- XML parser
- HDF5
- Parallel compilers to install FLEUR_MPI

When I run the configure script, the confuguration is correct but gives an error relative to mpi (see Configure_out.txt file). When I change to the build directory and run the "make" command, the procedure aborts at some point and yields the following error (see screenshot FLEUR_build.png).
I attached the Configure.out file as well as the error message. Did anyone have the same problem at some point? Any help is deeply appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Adriano Di Pietro

It is difficult to directly understand this. We probably have to check several different possible causes. Could you first provide the output of calling:

1
2
3

locale

Sometimes there is trouble with the c compiler if the locale is not set properly.

Dear Gregor,

as always thanks for the fast response. Here the output of the "locale" command

LC_TIME=it_IT.UTF-8

I would like to report the resolution of the issue:
Somehow the configuration ended up adding an undesired character at the beginning of the buildinfo file (fleur/build/include/buildinfo). Removing the character and re-executing the make command in the build directory solved the issue for me.

All the best,
Adriano

This is strange. Sorry for not replying in the last days. I was/am on vacation. We will investigate this behavior. Thank you for reporting the cause of the problem.
